Ramadan Assi, Senior Innovation Strategist

Ramadan Assi is an executive leader, strategist, C-Suite executive advisor, innovative entrepreneur, and a representative with over than 22 years of experience on five continents in the fields of international development, global health, and innovation, during his career he initiated, led and oversaw directly and indirectly programs worth more than $2.5 billion. Started his career as a banker then moved on to lead global complex development and health programs with strong focus on innovation and advanced technologies, spanning a broad spectrum from disaster response field work to representing and leading strategy portfolios of international organizations and foundations. A team-builder and perceptive strategic thinker who combines a detailed understanding of the Middle East North Africa region (MENA & GCC) with a global perspective gained through years of innovative work to tackle global challenges in various sectors, with an acute sense of local cultural awareness, deep understanding and active engagement with the international development architecture and inclusive leadership style. Since 2018 and until very recently Ramadan was working at Global Good Fund as an Executive Advisor for Strategic Partnerships were, he was leading and fostering collaboration with forward-looking governments, key United Nations agencies, international development organizations and distinguished research institutions to solve some of humanity's most daunting challenges and deliver meaningful and lasting impact in the global health and development sectors

Ramadan is also the Founder and CEO of Global Engagement Platform (GEP), a Think Tank that works closely with decision and policy makers. He advises, coaches, and supports senior executives and leaders, in the humanitarian, development and innovation sectors. Previously Ramadan was the Director of Global Strategy at the International Medical Corps (IMC), a global first responder organization active in more than 35 countries in five regions, with an annual operations budget that exceeded $400 million. Ramadan has also worked with World Health Organization (WHO), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, CARE International, Oxfam, Global Health Labs, Expanded Special Project for Elimination of Neglected Tropical Diseases (ESPEN) WHO/AFRO - MENA Engagement, Network for Empowered Aid Response (NEAR) focusing on sustainable financing solutions, the Turkish Red Crescent around global strategic partnership to support innovation, and the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) around expanding their impact globally especially in Africa and in collaboration with other global health initiatives.
